Q: 2 Year Old Daughter Absence "spells"

I have a 2 yr old that will pause for a period of between 3 to 5 seconds.
Some fluttering of the eyelids, but the period is so short it is hard to detect unless you are watching for it. We have started to keep a"log" of these events and her activities before and after her "spells".
She recently had a sleep deprived eeg that was "normal" per her doctor.
However, we have had to be extremely proactive with the doctor. He did not even call with the results, we had to contact his office and then wait another day before the nurse called back(this was a week after the eeg was performed). She had little to no information and could not attempt to answer a question. The doctor never called, himself. They passed me to the neurologist, wrong number. Called the doctor back and they advised that was the number they had for the neurologist.
I would imagine another eeg will be needed and would like a ct done.
It just seems to me the quicker the reason is found the quicker we can react.
You can probably tell that i'm really at a loss. Like any parent my child is my paramount of life. Any information, or insight, would be greatly appreciated. I'm certain that there are a great many brave people who have walked this path before and my daughter and I are taking our first steps together.

I thought every one did that. I do it, all my kids, and all mygrandkids for approx 3 sec, then back to normal. I always think of it as a place where god can talk to us. Or something he is reminding us about. My grand daughter started it around 1 year.

I can appreciate that. However, her "spells" happen in the middle of activities. It's not so much like a day dream as a sudden halt of all action.
I've seen her do it when she was holding a cup and she did not drop the cup. At 2 years of age, absence spells can also be an indication of lgs (lennox gastaut syndrome). Her "spells" would progress to gran mal form of seizure.
I just want to tackle this now, than when she is 6 hear a specialist say "if we would have just known sooner."

I agree completely, find it now. Gran mal nothing to play with.

I do hope you are wrong though, and they find nothing. Here's hoping. And if she indeed has something--i hope they do find it. I have not much 'faith' in medical .Dr's been screwed too many times. Sorry if your from the profession.

Like any other profession, it depends on the individual. How that individual sees their responsibilities to their customer/client and how they follow up. My degree is in fitness and nutrition and I have begun a supplementation of omega 3 oils for my daughter. This includes small amounts of inositol. I hope this helps. No spells, that have been noticed, for the past week. Thank you for your reply.

Omega 3 suppose to be good for all of us--right. Mental health maybe?

Im glad it seems to be working. I totally believe in homeopathic (natural) remedy instead of chemicals, and operations. Just havent done enough research on it to help my conditions yet. I did find a natural blood cholestrol remedy. But only took it once. Wish I had enough money to take all the things I need.

Seratonin imbalance, hbp, heart disease, diabeties, forgetfullness, spinal conditions, spinal cord compromise, high cholestrol

Omega 3 and 6 oils are extremely important for mental development as well as vision and so on. If you notice many new infant formulas are fortified with ara and dha, both omega oils.
Puritan and sundown both have fantastic products. The best is the "borage" which is a blend of fish oils and flax oils.
Ask your primary care phys. About these oils and a calcium, zinc, magnesium supplement. Combined the cost would be $10-$15 monthly, including the cost for the oils in capsule form.
