Increasing Lumps Spreading to Both Breasts Posted: 11-23-05 11:02am
I'm 17 yrs old, when I was 16 I found a
lump on the outer part of my right breast
that came and went on occasion. My doctor
had me get an ultrasound for it and told
me he found nothing of it. This past july
it came back but this time bigger, my
doctor had me take another ultrasound in
august that I didnt recieve the results
back until mid-september when we had to
call them, in which they told us it was
nothing to stop drinking caffeine and to
start taking vitamin e. When I went back
in october I had now a larger lump on the
outer part of my right breast and a
smaller lump forming on the top portion as
well as a small lump on the lower portion
of my left breast and I was not close to
menstrating. He diagnosed me with
fibrocystic breast disease and told me not
to worry about it and just understand it
is something I should research and just
live normally with. This time the lumps
didnt go away even after menstration later
that month they simply "deflated"
slightly. It is not late november and the
lumps have not only increased in size but
on my right breast it now stretches from
the lower outer portion to the inner upper
portion and the entire upper portion of
my left breast. I want to go into the
doctor again but this time with another
doctor. My mom advices me that it is
normal and I shouldnt need one. This past
week I was talking to my friend's father
who is a doctor about fbd and he told me
that I should be a little worried that I
am only 17 with a condition commonly found
in women above 40 and rarely in women
above 21. What is your advice
