Hello, this is my first time here. I'm looking for any insight and advice anyone has to offer. I having been having tachycardia episodes of 150-170bpm that last hours to days for over a year. Mostly svt. I'm in the er weekly to get them resolved with cardiazem. I pass out a few times a week with no warning. I do not tolerate any oral medication (vomiting and jaudice) and am allergic to beta blockers. The stress this has placed on my heart has caused my ventricles to enlarge. My diagnosis is inappropriatly overactive sa node (the pacemaker). I have been given the option of doing either a sa node ablation or an av node ablation with subsequeny pacemaker inplantation. I would like some advice on the pros and cons of each procedure. I realize that the is advice and your opinion and will treat it as so :> thank you

Av Or Sa Node Ablation
I'm new to this sight and you're the first person I found with tachycardia.I also have it.This coming tuesday im having an ablation surgery done.I've had tachycardia attacks for the last 6-8 years.3 in the last 4 years with 2 being in the last year.Everytime I have another attack it's worse than the one before.I get dizzy ,short of breath, sick to my stomach and when it's over i'm very exhausted. They usually last a couple of hours.I always said to my self "it will stop pretty soon".I didn't wait this time I got help right away.It happened at work on oct 3,2004.This time the ambulance got a reading on the ekg machiene before I got to the hospital so the doctor can finaly treat it.Hopefully they fix the problem.Good luck with yours
