Q: Breakthrough Bleeding On Depo Provera - Help!

I got my first depo shot in august. For the first six weeks, I loved it - no bleeding, no worries - and everything was great. Then I started bleeding. I had no cramps or pain, and it was fairly light bleeding, so I was still pretty ecstatic. I thought, "this isn't nearly as bad as usual! It'll stop within a week or so."

it lasted exactly four weeks.

I got my second shot last week, and this morning, guess what? I'm bleeding again. I don't know what to do. I haven't otherwise had problems with depo and it's the most convenient option for me, but I don't want to bleed all the time! :(

has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? I have heard that iron supplements help. Please advise!!!

My friend was on depo and she had the same problem. She said she would have screwed up periods exactly like the ones you described, and then as soon as she got the shot, it would immediately go away. She was having crazy side effects from it too, so she went off of it. Also, not to scare you or anything, i'm just informing you, I know of two girls who now have ovarian cancer from being on depo.
