What have your experiences with hrt been? Have you experienced any serious side effects? What do you think of the study in 2002 that proclaimed that it increases risk of blood clots, stroke and breast cancer?

Hrt
My experience with hrt has been positive. I had severe hot flashes and tried all the over-the-counter remedies that I could find, most of which I got from a health food store. Nothing worked until hrt. Luckily, I did not have a family history where I was at risk for cnacer, heart disease, etc. I've heard that the 2002 study had some flaws in it and hrt isn't as bad as they originally said. All I know is that i'm thankful I was able to take advantage of it.

Hrt
just because you haven't had any side effects yet does not mean that hrt is safe. It doesn't matter if you don't have a family history of any of those kinds of cancers. With regards to the bad side effects of hrt, we are all individual in that regard.

My adopted mother had over 60 strokes from premarin. In fact, as she was having the last 10 or so, the doctor asked her if she was on premarin. When she said yes, he told her -- not any more. So she had to finish off menopause with the hot flashes.

Have you not seen the congressional report where the ama apologized to the over 500 thousand women who have died as a result of the effects of hrt? The report is quite overwhelming.
