Okay, give me your opinion. Simple, just vote for whoever you think is most deserving of life. Pretend that all the rest are going to be killed. Whoever you chose will be saved, cared for etc.

If there is another option you would like me to add to the poll please tell me. If you feel this poll is unfair or biased, then it's okay, you don't have to vote. It's a thing we did in ethics class and psychology class, with a modification. I added the 10 week old zef.

I'm also thinking of making one that justs compares a 22 year old woman and a 10 week old zef. I think that would be interesting too. There would be an assumption that the zef would somehow be able to survive in an artificial womb of some kind... It's a hypothetical question you know! And then also, it might not be that 22 year old's zef either.

what about if the zef is inside the college student?

yeah, i'mnot sure about that one... I sort of wanted to leave it up for whatever the people interpereted... Think I should do another choice of a zef inside a loving mother who is trying to have kids and one inside a young teen who really doesn't want it?

That's okay. This is even more interesting in psychology class because there are actually animals involved, like ants and spiders and dolphins and stuff. And in psychology class, you rate them all using 1-10, and you can only use eah number once. I believe there are 5 animals and 5 humans on the list.

I had to say the woman supporting three children, on the basis that if she were bumped off, there would be three people who would be worse off. This assumes that she wasn't a edit or something, in which case they probably would have been better off being taken in by social services and placed with other families. And you didn't provide any information on the responsibilities or chracteristics of any of the others. The doctor, for instance, might also have a family to support.

The idea of "worthy" doesn't work for me, though - my answer is a purely utilitarian one.

What if that 10 week zef became a 3 year old, went to college to become a scientist who evenutally found the cure for aids, had 3 children while single and later became an old grandparent of 5 little grandkids?

the single mother of three can't become a grandfather.

yeah, but don't be dumb. She can become a grandmother.

except that this example is of people at their current age all at the same time, not their past present and future selves.

it's supposed to be vague. Pretend that's all the info you've been given (and it is) and you have to make a desicion or they all die horrible painful deaths. If you chose, the one pick survives and the others have quick painless deaths.

Okay, it sounds like this example isn't working, so i'll make another one. Suggestions for a poll that you would actually be willing to answer?

Say, if these were the choices: these are all 10 week old zefs:

a zef in a 15 year old girl who was raped

a zef in a 25 year old woman who really wants children and is married to a loving partner

a zef in a 22 year old woman who will lose her job and become homeless if she remains pregnant

Then you would let all of them die painful deaths? I'm sorry; I think my point here is that there absolutely is a value to life. I would rescue my boyfriend before rescuing my family dog. I'd rescue someone I disliked before i'd rescue the family dog, because they are a living breathing human.

But among "humans" as well, one must rate life. Thus, a zef of a raped 15 year old who doesn't want it is not as worthy of life as the zef in a wife who is waiting for her first child. I would rescue my boyfriend before an axe murderer, or before someone I didn't know anything about.

And even if you don't believe in it from the zef's point of view, the woman is still the mature one, and it is her desicion.

it doesn't matter....Male or female. You fail to recognize the main point which just goes to show your arrogance.
