Q: Exterior Ear Problem

The top exterior portion of my left ear seems to be wearing away. My ear looks like thier are lumps taken out of it. I notice that I sometimes have sore spots show up from time to time on my upper ear. I have a suspicion it is from sleeping on one side too much, has anyone heard of anything like this before?
