I just started taking the pill and I finished my first pack, minus the placebos. I had forgotten to take 2 pills in a row, one dark blue and one light blue. So I continued to take a pill until this sunday... Where I started a new pack since I missed 2 pills in a row. My boyfriend and I are talking about "leaving it in" this weekend... Is that safe? Considering these conditions.

By this weekend might be okay, though honestly he should wear a condom. Birth control pills have to be taken regularily for atleast 7 days before you can fully trust them.

It will be 7 days of consist pill taking from the new pack, is that ok? Why does the doctor tell you wait a month to finish the whole pack? Just to be safer?

Yes probably just for 100% assurance. In the pamphlet with your birth control pills it should say how long you should wait before having sex without other methods of protection. Example i'm on alesse and it says wait atleast 7 days.
