Ok so I got all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth removed on tuesday the 8th it is now monday almost a whole week and my lower left side is still hurting! I'm thinking it might be a dry socket, but is there a chance there could be an infection? It goes away when I take my pain meds, but im sick of being dizzy and out of it!

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!!!

I had similar problem after removing a lower wisdom tooth (the process took almost 3 hours...Painful). After 2 weeks, it was still hurting ( thought it was normal since the lengthy procedure was hard on the gums). The dentist had informed me that if dry socket, it would hurt I would have bad breath. 2 weeks later, the pain was there, but no bad breath (later when I went to the dentist, he mentioned that bad breath was due to food getting stuck in the socket, but I was cleaning sockets out well, so only experienced the pain, swelling and I could feel my blood veins swollen as they delivered high bloodflow to combact the bacteria).

Anyways, when I went back to dentist, he confirmed the dry socket, and put some medicated fibre like substance that also has antibiotics and painkillers to plug up the socket. After about a couple of days, the pain stopped.

Just my experience...If it helps in anyway.

Yeah I went to the dentist and I have a dry socket. He could have put the pack in, but I chose just to take the pain killers. Its still hurting. I'm hoping the pain will go away soon!

Hopefully you are taking antibiotics with the pain killers (not just painkillers). The pack works really well too.

Yeah i'm taking some antibiotics, the pain has kind of gone away, but my mouth still hurts!!! And it feels like something is poking my cheek on the upper right side!!

I lost my post op thing (my mom threw it out) and I remember it saying something about sharp bony edges but I cant remember what it said!!!

I dont understand why i'm having such a difficult time with this 10 days later. Everyone else is like fine in like 4 days!!!!

I can't eat anything semihard yet without it hurting......This whole thing has been a pain in the neck I would have been better off just leaving them!!!!!!
