:? Hei I am, male, in mid 50s, residing in norway and have registered high cholestrol reading of 8.0 which translates to ?? U.S.
I past 3 months I changed diet and commenced an active training schedule reducing weight from 230lbs down to 190lbs. I am 6'0"
before reducing weight my cholestrol read 6.5 increasing over a period of 20 years from 5.0
my doctor is concerned enough to start me on cholestrol reducing medication. Most of the high cholestrol I believe is hdl
my blood pressure is normal.
Do you have any idea what is happening and should I be concerned.
Thankyou

Hi, welcome to ehealthforum.

You have a higher risk of atherosclerosis (fat deposits in your arteries) which leads to coronary artery disease, which includes angina, heart attack, etc.

Have you had any acute heart problems, for example, stable angina, as these precipitate and further increase your risk of having another cardiac event.
