Maybe it varies person by person.. I am on the ring and personally I hate it. It irritates me, ive had breakthrough bleeding which ive never had on any other birth control, my boyfriend can feel it during sex and not to mention the last time we had sex...The ring fell out..Which wouldn't have been a big deal because you have 3 hours to get it back in...But it came out after sex and I found it the next morning..

ortho lo is really good.

i was just put on this to help keep my hormones regulated, because I had an ovarian cyst rupture. I took my first pill yesterday, I was very sick all day. I know my body has to adjust to the pill, but I was very sick even motion sick all day I had to stay in the bed most of the day. Is this normal to be this sick from this type of birthcontrol? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well I have been on the ring for 3 months and I havent had any irritation at all.. I love it... Its so easy to insert and remove..Alot of people have experience it falling out, mine has never and i'm pretty active with my partner.. The weight gain is the same to the other bc options..But I have tried pills and the depo shot and I like the ring way better...

Nuvaring

I have been using nuvaring for about 6 months now. In the begining it caused me to have extreme mood swings and I honestly felt like I was going crazy because one minute id be pissed the next I would be crying and so on and I didnt understand what was happening. That went on for the first 2 months but has gradually gotten better. I still feel somewhat depressed though, although I havent been diagnosed with depression since I havent seen a doctor about it. The ring was causing extreme dryness an itching for a few days at a time each month but recently I have no longer been expieriencing this problem. The worst side effect I have had was going from wanting to have sex all the time to not wanting it at all. But I have slowly been gaining my sex drive back.

The best thing about the ring is you dont have worry about it every day like pills. It's my best option at this time besides condoms.

To those who are afraid the ring will get in the way while having sex, my boyfriend has never complained (i think he likes knowing its there so hes not stressing about getting me pregnant) and besides, you can remove the ring for up to 3 hours if its a problem.

Some have posted that the ring has fell out. I have never had this problem. I have also never had any spotting. I have, however, had some discharge but nothing major.

And finally, I have gained about 10 pounds since I began using the ring. I still have the same diet and excercise as before so I can only attribute the weight gain to the ring.

Overall, im fairly happy with the ring now that i've hung in there and the side effects are starting to go away. And besides, ive gone from having a 5 day period with awful cramps (heavy in the begining to light at the end) to now having a 2 day light period with hardly any cramps (basically no pms) gotta love that:)

Nuvaring

I have been on the Nuvaring for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. I will never take another pill again. With the pills I always had issues with mood swings and virtually no sex drive. But with the Nuvaring, everything is great! I work in in OB/GYN office so I see a lot of different birth control options and by far, the Nuvaring has had the most success! We just started a new birth control called Implanon. It takes place of the Norplant. It lasts three years. We have had success with it so far as well. So if you can handle Depo and are looking for something a little more long term, you might want to check into it. It is NOT visible at all!

my doctor told me an easy way for inserting the ring... take a tampax card board applicator with out the tampon in and put the ring in and insert it as if it were a tampon!! Very

Hello! It's my second month on nuvaring and I think it's pretty good so far- it's slipping down a bit but hopefully that's just from my body getting used to it. I was wondering if it's safe to use vaginal lube with it,- like KY gel or Astroglide? The nuvaring website doesn't really seem to say anything definite about it...

Hey I have been on the Nuvaring for over a year now and I love it! I even got my roommates on it now. I use to have very irregular periods and they would last almot 8 days. I tried the pill but I could never take it at the same time so I would get two periods a month! But ever since I've been on the ring they never last more than 4 days and the cramps are very minimal. And ladies don't be afriad of your vagina....its really not a big deal to put it in and remove, I've had friends that were just disgusted by that part.

My only concern at the moment is how effective it is, I think im just paranoid but I use it correctly and it is suppose to work like 99% right? My boyfriend and I use condoms but sometimes he pulls out before he goes but there is always the pre stuff, should I be worried?
