Hi everyone i'm new, I was just told last week I have advanced endometriosis and I have had it for at least two years, i'm not sure yet how advanced but we know there will be surgery. I am still waiting to see a specialist. I was just wondering I know the last 5-6 months I have had allot of sex with nothing and no baby, after the surgery will I be able to conceive? I'm a little mixed up and I would like to know if anyone else has been through this? Thankx

Removing it does increase your chances of conceiving. However, before you have surgery you better research this disease. They will only remove it a couple of times before giving you a hysterectomy. And there is like a 90% chance that it will come back. I have it, but I chose to live with the pain until I am ready to conceive. My childhood friend had a hysterectomy last year from the disease and she is only 24. But she had it removed a couple of times already and that was the last straw. Thank goodness she had two beautiful girls at a very young age.

Thank you for your reply, I am happy to be talking to someone who finally knows what there talking about! I've been reading as much as I can but it seems everything contradicts its self. Now since I know its advanced do you know if there is a time frame in which would be the best time to have a baby? Is there a limited amount of time you have to conceive? This is a very personal question but I was wondering if your girl friend chose to have children at a very young age or was it because of endometriosis and she had to? Thank you so much for your insight on this

I also have another question, I just had my period two weeks ago, I had sex two nights ago and I was lightly bleeding, that has never happened to me before and I have had allot of sex, do you think its because of endometriosis or something else? It stopped when I was done having sex.
Thankx

My girlfriend actually accidentally got pregnant when she was 16. And I think she had her second baby at 18 or 19. However, like I said it is a good thing that she did, because she had a hysterectomy last year after a miscarriage. And both of her pregnancies were extremely complicated. Her first time she was bedridden for seven of the nine months. But she doesn't regret it.
Yes, a lot of the information on this disease does contradict itself, and is very confusing. I would ask your doctor how long you should wait after surgery to try to conceive. However, I would not wait too long, since it will probably come back. I mean, god hope it doesn't, but you have to always consider all possibilities.
The light bleeding was probably from the disease. Since it was just a small amount I would not worry about it. I have that happen to me every once in a while too.
I wish you luck and if you have any more questions just let me know.
