Hi jessica, I have a son with cf and I am
extremely careful that he does not go
into any smoky rooms and that no one
smokes around him. I was astonished when
I read that your partner smokes, does he
smoke inside the house? He may not
understand your condition fully, or it
maybe some sort of self denial, maybe he
is finding it hard to cope with. What I
do know is that you have to put your
health first and smoking around you could
really harm your lungs. Maybe try to talk
to him about it or maybe someone else
close to him. I always put cf first with
my son and everything else second. I'm
sure he will understand that your health
comes before his cigs.

Its a difficult one but If my partner
smoked after i asked him not to and he
fully knew the effects it has on cystic
fibrosis i would be angry!! Either he just
doesnt care cuz its not happening to him
or he just plain doesnt really understand
CF! Give him an choice you or the
cigerettes!! Or at least lay down some
ground rules ie no smoking near you or
near where you might go! Im sorry to have
to say it but by the sounds of it he has
very little respect or like i said doesnt
understand the damage he could do! Good
luck with this one !!!
