Diabetic Symptoms
Posted: 11-11-05 23:54pm

I am a type 2 diabetic who is taking avandamet 2/500 two times a day and I am starting to have very bad dizzy spells and nausea issues. As well my blood sugar is typically 115 waking and then down to the 80's for the rest of the day. A1c is at 6.1; my doctor says to just exercise more and lose more weight however, I dont have the energy to do so. Anyone have a clue as to what I should be looking out for. My night vision is also getting worst. I am a 34 year old male 5'8 and about 261 lbs.

Omg!! I am now having the same types of problems!! I am also type 2 diabetic and on metformin and glipizide. My blood sugar has been running high up to a month and a half ago. At that time my doc did a 3 month test to check my bs and it wsa still high. I had lost my meter and just got another one last thurs and was able to check my bs. Now, I am finding that it is running low!!! I am also getting really bad symptoms. I am getting dizziness, fatigue, irritable, unsteady on my feet, slight slurred speech. It is horrible! Im calling my doc on monday for an appt! Good luck to you!

Jeannine btw, I am also 34

Hi, I ran into your message quite accidentally while researching about some details on diabetes and thought of sharing some of my findings.Diabetes is a life-long disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood. There is no cure for diabetes. The immediate goals are to stabilize your blood sugar.

The acute management of hypoglycemia involves the rapid delivery of a source of easily absorbed sugar. Regular soda, juice, lifesavers, table sugar, and the like are good options.

I hope the above is of some help to you as well.

I have diabetes for the last 5 yrs. I am taking metformin 4 x a day. My daily blood sugar is very much under control, about 110 to 130 during the day time. I usually take 1 pill just before bedtime and also take my bs and it usually reads between 130 to 170. Then the next morning, my reading is about 150 or 160. If before bedtime, I can be very low, 102 or 112, my next morning reading is even higher. If my bedtime reading is 180 or higher, then my next morning is good, about 130. It just does not make sense to me. However my doc explain to me that my body just produce sugar to prevent me going to hypo. He also wanted me to take glipizide at bedtime so my bs will be 130 or lower. I really do not want to take any more medication as my body is very sensitive to medications. I just want to know if any body has this problems and can share with me or give me some tips/suggestions.
