It amazes me with all the women on here
saying they all got negatives , even after
missed periods, and were still pregnant!
If seems to me , these tests are alot less
than the 99% accurate they claim to be!
I am currently waiting to ( hopefully)
miss my period. I have been having
symptoms, not explained by anything else,
my first test I took yesterday at 5 days
before ( supposedly you can test 10 days
before, but at 5 before it was a negative.
I am not convinced that it is accurate,
so I am waiting 4 more days to test again.
( fingers crossed!) we tried so hard this
month! Every day I was possibly fertile,
and alot that I shouldn't have been, just
in case! Anyways, do most doctors do a
blood test if you request it, or do they
need a "reason"?
I do not want to be thinking because of a
urine test that I am not, and actually be!

I took a test today from family dollar
store..It costed a dollar.It was
negative.But for some odd reason...I don't
believe it because I have a lot of
symptoms.Something knocked my cycle off
track..So I don't know exactly when I
would get it next.I started off with 27
days.One month I thought I was
pregnant..And it changed to 32 days.I was
5 days late.And now i'm on day 28.I tested
and it was negative..But i"m not at all
convinced.It's like I feel it.So I thought
like this..Would I buy condoms if they
costed a dollar and expect them to be
reliable. If that was the case then store
brands would always be bought out.

I went to the hospital at the beginning of
may and wanted a blood test done to see if
I was pregnant...I ended up having to go
through the pelvic exam before they would
even send someone in to do my blood
work...Hours later they came back in and
said the test came back negative...Now I
knew I was pregnant. So 2 weeks later I
took a pregnancy test and the lines were
bright red and showed up within 5-10
seconds...My hormone levels were very
high. I even toom several more just to be
sure and they all came up the same way...I
would advise that if you don't have
medical insurance that you just go and buy
some pregnancy tests that come with more
than 1 in a kit, and take one in the
morning the first week after you missed
period if you end up missing your
period...Then if the test still shows
negative after your missed period give it
one more week and take the other one first
thing in the morning..Buy then the hormone
level should be stong enough to show a
positive if you are indeed pregnant.

I have good insurance, it is probably
covered, but I have a doctor that is very
skeptical of things you "don't need". In
the process of trying to find a new
physician. My obgyn I like, who do I
call?

Labs usually take walk-in hcg blood tests.
The one I have gone to costs $15 and you
usually get your results back within a
couple hours. You do not need a dr order
to get one. If you would want it covered
by your insurance, then you see your dr
first so he can send you.
The earliest you can take a test would be
7-10 days after conception. I myself
like the answer brand preg test. It told
me yes 4 days before my period was due (
which would have been about 10 days after
conception). Every woman is different
though, & some women may not have
enough hcg in their urine until they
actually miss a period. Hope this
helps:) hollie

Oops! I forgot the original question.
Blood tests are more sensitive than the
urine tests & so the earliest that
i've heard of a blood test coming back
positive would be 7 days after conception.
