Okay. I went to the doctors on thursday. I found out that I was 5 and a half weeks pregnant. I had my first ultrasound. I see the sac and can see the fetal pole faintly (i think). It's 5.5 cm...But the problem is the doctor said she didn't see a heartbeat. Is this normal? I will be 6 weeks on monday and I have another appointment on thursday to see if there is a heartbeat. Should I see one by then? This is my first pregnancy, is this something I should be worried about? Can anyone help me?

Thank you

Sometimes when you're that early in your pregnancy the dr's have a hard time finding the heart beat because it's so small. Some drs will wait until you're much farther to even considering trying to find it like mine did. Even then they can have a hard time. I know it's easy to say but right now I wouldn't worry about. Your doc will let you know if something is seriously wrong. Good luck.
