I'm only 17 and i've already been on 4 different types of brith control. I have pcos which is why I take it. The first pill I took was orthotricycline but currently I take seasonale. I've had a lot of breakthrough bleeding and moodiness, but more recently have been getting night sweats, and have gained quite of bit of weight in my thighs and butt. The weight is what bothers me the most, especially because my eating habits are the same and if anything I am exercising more. Someone told me that my birth control may be to blame.

Has anyone had any similar experiences with seasonale? Do you think that seasonale is to blame for the weight gain? Most importantly...What do you think is the best birth control to help you loose weight?

Please help me.

Don't quote me but I think seasonale has a high amount of hormones which could be to blame for your weight gain. Try something with less hormones, maybe, like ortho tri cyclen lo. Or talk to your doctor about it.

Fyi, seasonale is the only form of b/c that will give you weight gain. I'm currently on alesse, and if anything i've lost weight. There is a lower amount of horomones. Perhaps try this brand?

Birth control pills has estrogen, and estrogen retains water overtime. Which causes weight gain or edema. So I suggest u exercise at least 3x a wk.

Yasmin
I was on diane 35 for a while and put on 5 kgs in 2 months. The gym didn't help either. I've been on yasmin for 2 yrs now, and haven't put on any weight. (i've got pcos too, so when I got off the pill temporarily I put on a lot of weight.)

my sister's been on yasmin too, and she feels she has in fact put on some weight... I think it depends on ur body.

I have pcos as well. Yasmin tends to work the best for women with pcos. I take this pill to regulate hormones. I lost 20 lbs the first time I started taking it! It has a diuretic in it to help you lose water weight.
