I'm 25 years old and I think I have dry eyes. It started recently like 2 weeks ago when I woke up in the middle of one night and my eyes were dry like a rock. I went to cvs at 4 am to get eye drops. Ever since then, I had to keep putting eye drops in my eyes. I have spent a lot for the past two weeks on eye drops: systain, refresh endura, tear naturale, thera tears, genteal gel for severe dry eyes, and genteal for moderate eyes. None of them really helped me except for the tear naturale ointment at night. I will feel burning and my eyes will be red. I went to see eye doctor who prescribe me with the new types of contact lens, acuvue advance with hydraclear. My eyes actually feel ok during the contact lens wear, I mean, no burning feeling. However, after few hours, my eyes will become so red. When I wear glasses, I feel fine at home. However, my eyes will be burning so bad at work. I wonder if it's because of the computer use but I have constantly forced myself to blink if I rememeber it. My eyes at work are also red though I wear glasses. I just want to know if anyone experience the same symptom as me? I'm so depressed over this and it really affect how I live my life. Please help.

Dry Eye
Hello mate,I am 28,and I think after reading your post I may have the same thing,I cannot get a doctor appointment for a week, but it sounds very similar. My eyes hurt and are hard to open in the morning, and during the night, the eye drops I have brought just make my eyes red itchy and sore. Also I am etting alot of gunk in my eyes, but conjunctivitis drops dont cure this! Also it is affecting my life because I dont want to go out just in case people think I am on drugs or something!!Because of the red eye.

A co-worker of mine had some tiny "things" inserted into his tear ducts. You don't even feel them. It must not hurt, because he is the biggest baby about things. I guess it stimulates the tears. And yes, the computer can wreak havoc on your eyes!

hi there i have heard of something similar which medical name is orbital cellulittis and is a sister disease to conjunctivitis...the tear ducts block and some eyes been known to bleed through it.
A friend of mine was prescribed antibiotic eye drops and helped her.. she has been told if she has current attacks a refferal would be made to eye specialist..
not sure if this helps any of you but thought you may be interested in my input..
