I was just prescribed paxil and am wondering if anyone else might be able to share how they feel about this drug and what side effects you had, if you have or are taking it. The doctor said that for someone like me, who is in a constant state of anxiety pretty much every day, this is the best prescription. I am not a big pill person wonder if it is even worth trying. Thanks in advnace for your response!

I was given paxil last week for general stress/panic. I started having breathing problems and rapid heart rate 3 months ago. Everything comes back normal. Cariologist and pulmonologist said everything is fine.

Anyway, the first day I took it I thought I was going to shake out of my chair. I felt like had drank 30 cups of coffee. It's been 5 days now and I still have the side effects. I feel anxious in general now, and sometimes my hands shake so bad I can hardly type, not good in my profession. Other times I can't stay awake. I already called my Dr. About the side effects and he said to give it another week or so.

Re: Paxil
Hello jen,

well I started taking prozac about 3 weeks ago, and I feel just fine. In fact I feel much better then I was when I was taking celexa. I was very scared of taking prozac because I always thought this drug was for very crazy people, but I was wrong ( ofcurse :-)) I feel good calm and with less anxiety. So, I really really hope that works for you...The only side effect I had was drowsiness but thats it.
Good luck
