Q: Extremely Important Please Answer!!!!

I had a one night thing with a girl of unknown hiv status.( I have hpv but I am not seeing any signs of warts on my penis.) I had unprotected sex with this girl for like 7 seconds and than I stopped. What is my chance of getting infected with hiv if the girl was infected. I am on my 16th day so far after haveing sex with her so my window is still open and is making me so stressed that I almost sometimes come to the point I puke what I eat. I have lost a lot of weight because of just thinking of the risks and have done every single search about hiv on the web to learn more.
I got tested a week ago which came out negative but I am still at the very beggining of my window.

How easy hiv transmitted from females to males?
What is my risk of getting infetced? What is the risk of me getting infected because we both did oral sex to each other???
Also I fingered her which I feel really scared because sometimes I have small cuts on my cuticles. How fresh should a cut be to be able to take hiv into your blood system.

Please tell me what you think I am very very scared and would respect your honest opinion.

Regarding Extremely Important

Well, to be positive, whether it is 7 sec of unprotected sex or 7 mts it doesnt matter much.. Its just yes or no.

Hiv transmission in an single encounter of unprotected sex is 1 in 300 to 10,000 as per medical documents. But that can surely not encourage one. The only way to be sure is to get tested.

Though weight loss is one of the symptoms of a early acute infection happening during the window period, it is not consistant symptom. As you said, it can also happen due to stress and anxiety.

Good that you took the first step to get tested. Test again after 3 months to get confirmed.

Oral sex has some effect on transmission, though low. Female to male transmission is lower than a male to female transmission. Female to male transmission is more positive when the female has more blood flow and that happens to get in touch with the male body.

More than that, protect yourself in the future. Do not go for unprotected sex.

wait another two weeks and get tested again. And then wait a month and get tested again. If all of the three tests come up negative, a test every six months after that should be sufficient.

Did you tell her that you have hpv? It will be important for her to know that so that she can start being treated because most women are asymptomatic, meaning she most likely won't have any symptoms and if left untreated, can cause problems.

You need to be honest with the people that you have sex with and hopefully they will be honest with you as well. From now on, to truly protect yourself, don't put your penis into anyone without putting on a condom first, every single time. If you are going to have sex, that is the only way to protect yourself from disease and infection.

it depends. Was this only vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, or oral intercourse? Anal intercourse is the riskiest, followed by vaginal, followed by oral. Anytime you have unprotected intercourse, you run the risk of exchanging fluids which may carry disease or infection. From now on, protect yourself.

the risk is always present when you do not use protection. Calm down and get yourself tested again in another couple of weeks. I have to say that if the issue of hiv scares you this much, you should really look into abstaining for a bit longer until you can handle a sexual relationship but that's just my opinion.

oral sex is the least risky but the risk still exists. If you or she had a small cut or sore in or around your mouth or in your throat, you could have exchanged infected fluid with eachother. However, without blood being present in your mouth, the chance of contracting a disease or infection through oral sex is small, small but still existent.

reall, any cut would be sufficient because it is an opening into your body for things to be transferred. However, I don't think you have to worry very much about that unless she was on her period or had a cut on/near her vagina.

i think you're alright. You need to relax, trust your last hiv test, and just make an appointment for another one in a couple of weeks. If you are having sex, you must be prepared for your sexual encounters so that you do not become this upset after every single one. From now on, if you are going to have sex, practice safer sex with a condom on every single time from beginning to end.

It does matter to some extent whether it was seven seconds or seven minutes - the longer one is exposed to infection, the more chance of contracting it. Simple logic, and recognised fact.
But that isn't so important. A modern test, after three months from the episode, is entirely sufficient. Repeat testing 'every six months' from this one episode is not required.

Chances are very much in your favour that you will be fine. Ars symptoms are, in the majority of cases, based around a flu like illness. Weight loss is rarer, and I believe that it would occur alongside the more common symptoms, rather than exclusively.

Maybe you should have thought of that before you had unprotected sex with some girl that you hardly knew.It's because of idiots like you that the hiv and aids are so popular among the world.Maybe you should learn to keep your dick in your pants and stop putting it inside of girls you dont know and then maybe you wont be feeling so sick.

Why?

That sort of comment, david, is neither necessary or useful.

People make mistakes because that is human nature - regret is one of our attributes that we should be thankful for. If one of those regrets is having unprotected sex, who is anyone to judge? But I believe people should be able to seek help if they have made a mistake, and if that mistake is a risky encounter, then all one should do is advise them on the facts.

What good does it do to admonish them? I always advise safe, protected sex, but in the context of good, informed knowledge of the facts, not simply a rant against it.

Grow up. And by the way, if you look up the word 'popular', I doubt you could attribute it to hiv/aids.

Look here if it wasn't for people like him making stupid mistakes then maybe the world wouldn't have so many people in it with hiv/aids.We need to do something to stop the spread of it.I don't want my child growing up in a world that has so many people with hiv/aids because it causes a painful death and I wouldn't be able to stand by and watch my child die of something so terrible.Maybe you should open up your eyes and take a look around,the world sucks but this is how I chose to deal with it.Thats how the cookie crumbles

Your children will be fine, so long as they themselves don't engage in risky behaviour.

I assure you that admonishing people who come here because they are worried will not help.

Giving them sound, informative feedback on their situation however, does help, I believe.

You say 'we need to do something to stop the spread of it'. So what, apart from coming to the forum and calling people stupid, are you doing to help solve the problem?
Remeber, the most powerful weapon against hiv is education.

I disagree. If he or anyone else is going to continue having sex, then regular testing should be worked into their routine, not just for hiv but for other sti's as well. That is why I suggested testing every six months. I doubt that this will be his only sexual encounter or that he will remain completely celibate.
