Q: Mysterious Rash / Circles On Thigh

Well i've had a bit of a rash on my inner thigh, kinda at the place where the leg and groin meet, so fairly close to my penis. I've had it for quite some time now, and have no idea what it is. There are three circles, about half an inch in diameter- two on the left side, one on the right. They are somewhat reddish, with a brown/tan tint to it. They aren't raised, they don't itch, they aren't sore... They don't irrate me in any way. (just the appearance bugs me)
it can't be an std or anything as i've not had sex with my girlfriend yet (only 18). I haven't switched soaps, or anything that could suddenly bring this on, as it's been around for maybe a year now.. Maybe more, I can't even remember. Perhaps this is a sweat rash? Maybe I don't dry myself off enough after a shower? Any help would be appreciated.

I took some pictures if it will help. Type these into your address bar to get them to work, otherwise angelfire will yell at you.

*edit: can't get these url's to post properly. It should all be lowercase, except for the jpg, which is in caps.*

Probably just a allergic reaction to something or caused by a product, or clothing or something. Have you don'e anything different than your norm (ie: new soap, clothes, shaving the area etc...)?

Nope, i've done nothing out of the norm. No new soap, nor do I shave around there. (though I did in the pictures around the marks so that they were more visable, and because i'm now putting moisturizer on it, as suggested by someone.)

and considering they've been there for about a year or more, I have no idea what it could be. It can't be a rash, as those tend to cover more area... And would have gone away by now.. Where as these are individual marks and don't seem to be going away anytime soon.

I'm stumped, gentlemen.

Do they tend to show up and then go away? If so, you might just have really sensitive skin in which case rashes like that can occur frequently. Another thought is were you ever hit or injured in that region? There is a type of semi-permanent bruise that looks like a rash as well.

Hmm.. I can't recall ever being hit anywhere around there- though they do look like bruises. They do tend to fade at times, though they've been around for so long it's hard to remember. I'll start keeping track. Even just after a day of using moisturizer they do look more faded.
