Q: Hysterectomy Scheduled, Need Advice Please

Hello everyone. I am a endo patient and am scheduled for complete
hysterectomy on the 30th. I have been very ill for a long time. After
going through all the medical procedures that are available, my doctor
said either I try to live with the pain or have surgery. I am a mother
of 3, which I thank god for every day, and to endure that pain any longer
would be unbearable. I am to the point that I hurt so bad I get sore as
if i've exercised for hours. I was wondering, if anyone may help, what
its like to be thrown into surgical menapause? And if you have had any
problems with hormones? They say black cohosh and pure-gesterone
cream are great, has anyone had any success with these? Well I am
so full of curiosity that it would take me hours to ponder this subject. So
thank you for any help.

Surgical Menopause
I had lavh with removal of my only remaining ovary three weeks ago. I am on a low-dose estrogen patch. I had a really bad migraine one week after surgery because I didn't change my patch in time. Other than that, I have had no problems. That's just my experience, of course. You can find lots of great support and answers there. Good luck to you, and I hope you're pain free soon!

Hysterectomy
Hi, Good luck with the surgery, I am also going in on the 30th to have a double Hysterectomy and feeling very anxious ( got Double Womb etc) . Are you not able keep your ovaries? I maybe able to keep mine but I guess the surgeon will not know for definite until in surgery.

Hysterectomy
Hi, I am 47 years old and had a total hysterectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago.Did not have bleeding or pain, but had a huge fibroid. My uterus was the size of a 5 month old pregnant woman.I asked the dr to leave my ovaries,he said he would leave them if he saw they were ok when he open my abdomen. He left them, have no problems with menopausal symptoms so far.Let's hope they are not bad, but they say the ovaries are still producing hormones.Even though I have 7'' incision I am doing great.

Not Sure...
Hi, I am 30 yrs old and had a complete Hyst 4 yrs ago. Stage 3-4 Endo, including my bladder and cul-de-sac. Never been on hormones. Sweats and hot flashes are horrible, but are finally starting to decrease. Problem now...chest wall and upper abdominal pain for 10 months. After months of testing and meds, they now suspect that endo could have spread upward. What? I thought I was done with this. Please make sure you know ALL of the facts and consider all of the reprocutions. I did not know women who had stage 4 endo, beyond their reproductive organs and had a complete hys, had a 40% of endo reoccurring within 5 yrs. I am so confused about the decision I made hastily, while in so much pain 4 years ago. Now I sit here in more pain and no idea where to go.
Good Luck to you, I hope you find relief.

Don't Do It There Is Another Way
DON'T DO IT ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE PROCEDURE WHERE THEY BURN THE INSIDE OF YOU UTERUS i FORGOT THE NAME BUT THIS IS WAY BETTER YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS OF A HYSTERECTOMY. i WAS UNABLE TO DO IT BECAUSE I HAD ANDIOMYOSIS AN THE BURN TECHNIQUE WOULD NOT WORK FOR ME BUT I HAVE RESEARCH AND IT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL ON A LOT OF WOMEN
