I've never used alesse, but i'm on ortho tri cyclen lo and my mood seems better than when I was on the patch. I've heard some people say their mood swings were worse on tri-phasic pills, but they seem to be working for me. Good luck, I hope you find one you like!

The tri cyclen lo pills are different colors every week. If you don't want to try a higher dose of estrogen, you might want to just try any pill you're interested in and see if it works for you. If the bleeding doesn't stop after a few months, you can always think about trying one with more estrogen.

I'm just on tri cyclen, i'm on my second week. I just started it, and it seems to be going pretty good. Except for that i've been bleeding for nearly 10 day now, and my period usually only lasts 5. It's not that heavy of bleeding, and my friend told me that it's normal, because your body takes time to adjust. I haven't had any side effects, i've actually lost nearly 12 pounds since i've been on it, which is probably one of the down sides. Other then that, it seems to be alright. My doctor wanted to put me on tri cylcen lo, but I have to take meds for the next 6 months, and she had told me that the medication may interfere with with tri cyclen lo, so she thought it was best that she put me on tri cylcen. Not sure why...But who knows haha

From my personal experience I would recommend that you do not use ortho tri-cyclen lo. This pill has made me have extreme mood swings along with many other bad side effects. I know that every person is different, but I have several friends that have also had a lot of problems when taking tri-cyclen lo.

I was on ortho novum for only three months, and I stopped taking it because it made me have extreme mood swings and I bled for the entire first month!! Now I am on ortho tri cyclen lo and I am on my third month and I absolutely just love it! I haven't had any side effects on my mood so far...So that's really an upside...The doctor was going to put me on just ortho tri cyclen...But when I went in my blood pressure was really high for some reason so she didn't. But, pills are different for everyone, and I really know nothing about the allesse. Just check with your doctor!!

I've been on ortho tricylcen lo for about 6 months now and I haven't had any side effects whatsoever. I may just be lucky, I don't know. I would just talk to your doctor, though, since everyone has a different exprience with birth control. Good luck.

Im on alesse! Alesse has the least amount of horomones in them which causes no mood swings. In fact, I have less mood swings than ever before. I highly recomend this brand.
