Q: Vasectomy And Reversibility

My partner made a vasectomy ca. 7 years ago. We are together for 4 years now, and thinking on having a child. I know that no care was taken in freezing sperm at the time of his operation.
Is the cirurgy reversible? I have read that more likely than not, he had acquire "imnulogical infertility", and that the reconnection of the vessels might not work (for getting pregnant through the "natural" way). Is it still possible to make artificial insemination?
Thanks for your comments and replys!!!

I think that the safe bet is it probably won't work; and that you should waste your money unless you have a strong need to do so (or really want to) or your doctor ahs strong reason to believe that it will work.

.
My dad had a vascetomy reverse and it worked for him this was for his second marraige he had the reversal had one child, then got another vascetomy it did not take and he had another child. So he had to have another vascetomy.

The only thing was that he complained that it was really really painful and at the time he said I hope this is $%&^ing worth it!! Things might have change recently with advancements in medical technics. He had the op in 1991 and had his first vascetomy in 1978 so 13 years later he had the reversal.

So I would say your chance are pretty good if your partner is willing to go through with it.

Interesting story. But you should always assume it won't work, just in case; don't want to get your hopes up!

Probably
Vasectomy reversals usually work if they are done lessthan 10 years afterthe initial surgery. If this is what you want, go for it.

The immunological effects usually don't result in infertility. It's not even clear if they are the reason vasectomy reversal don't always take.

You can also extract sperm from him with a needle without a vasectomy reversal.
