i'm a sometime migraine sufferer, but
thankfully I can count my migraines in
times per year, rather than per month or
week. As you will all have experienced
the debilitating effects, I can only be
thankful for this.
However, there is a much worse problem
which I do not know if is associated or
not. Three years ago I began to get
severe stabbing left eye pain on a regular
basis. A visit to a homeopath brought
temporary relief, but they continue to
blight my life. They are now occuring
with startling regularity - I get the
stabbing pain every day - it flares up
between 5am and 7am, and frequently
continues throughout the day as a soreness
and tenderness of my eye with extreme
sensitivity to light.
I have visited an opthalmologist, who told
me the eye was normal.
I have also visited a neurologist who,
having carried out an mri scan, could not
identify any problems. He did suggest
tegretol (carbamazepine) as a medicine,
but I was concerned that as he was unable
to specify any problem, then he was using
tegretol as an easy way out. I was
worried about the possibilities of
side-effects without clear benefits. Can
anyone tell me of there experience with
tegretol?
I am wondering if migraine and left eye
pain are associated. Finally, I would
also like to know if there could be any
connection with wisdom teeth. I have
impacted wisdom teeth which will be
removed in the next few months. Is there
any link between impacted wisdom teeth and
eye pain???
I would really appreciate any help anyone
could offer

Hey Me Too Posted: 10-04-07 17:42pm
I am having my wisdome teeth out in two
weeks. My top left wisdom tooth is the
only one that is impacted (it is starting
to poking out of my gums toward the side).
I have been noticing some pain in my left
check and my left eye is a little sore
today. I'm assuming this is from my tooth
that has started to come in.
