I think that at your height if you lose 15 to 20 pounds you will be underweight.

More cardio, less food... Any kind of stimulant: phentermine, adderall, ritalin, caffeine, cocaine, dexedrine, etc... You should focus more on tone than weight, if you get around 110, you will probably be happy with your appearance if you have been eating right and doing intense cardio. Ride the snake...

Why so quick to advise diet pills? That's a last resort.

Burn more calories than you take in. That's the only way to really lose weight. Work out, eat healthy, etc.

Be Carefull
What might look best and what is the most healthy are two deff things. Studies are showing that people who are under weight die early from artery problems. You need a little padding over things to keep them safe. So being under weight could be a very bad thing. At your height a safe weight would be about 112 but thats as low as you should probably go. My friend is 5'1" and she is 105 that is exactly where she is supposed to be for weight. But it also depends on your bone structure and your body fat. Also if you are not over weight if you over excercise you will probably bulk your muscles instead of losing weight. When you start excercising you may first lose a little fat weight but after that you will be just growing muscle. I also read a great tip. Excersise and eat healthier but do not weigh your self for at least a couple months instead of obsesing over weight. Focus on how your clothes fit and how you think you look. So basicly dont discourage yourself being stepping on the scales.

Good luck.
P.S. I am also trying to lose a little weight I put on ten pounds when I got married.

that is 100% false.

Sure, working out builds muscle, but unless you are lifting heavy weights all the time and using supplements, you will not bulk up. That is one of the biggest myths there is.

Women should never be afraid of bulking up just from normal workout routines. All aerobic activity is good for weight loss, and you cannot put on bulk that way. And it has been proven that resistance (weight) training in addition to a cardio routine will help people lose weight more quickly than just cardio alone.

Anyone looking for advice on these issues needs to consult a reliable source for their information rather than messageboard hearsay. I'd really hate to think of anyone missing out on the benefits of fitness just because of something they read on the internet.

I am also 5'4 and slightly lighter.I eat a lot of sweets but I am starting to run almost daily and I do a very moderate workout at the gym
every other day. Also, If you are interested in diet pills I have tried hydroxcut it worked but I did not take is seriously. So I am going to try it again soon.

I find the Qwave system very efficient. It`s not only a calorie counter but diet organizer, workout trainer and many more. You can also measure your physical workload, daily stress reaction and recovery. You could read more on qwave.com
