Pregnancy After Depro Provera Posted: 11-02-05 09:43am
I am 39 (40 in feb 2006) and have 3
children ages 20, 12, and 1 yr old. I
had no problems conceiving with my last
child. In fact I conceived on the first
try. I had not been on birth control in
years when I conceived my las baby, and
was using condoms before that. I never
had problems conceiving ever. In fact I
was on the pill with my other two
pregnancies when I became pregnant.
However, after my last child was born 1
year ago, I went on depro provera in april
of this year. I had 2 shots and did not
go back in the beginning of october when I
needed my 3rd shot. How long does it
take to get pregnant after stopping depro
provera? I bleed for a month before my
3rd shot was due. I now have spotting
but is on time for when I am to receive my
period, but am not pregnant. I am
started to think maybe because of my age I
will not be able to conceive?

I got pregnant twice on the pill as a
teen, went on depo when I was about 19 for
a yr. It then took hubby and I about 4
yrs to conceive after, I am now 26 with a
4 1/2month old. Depo seems to mess with
your system. Could be age or the depo.
I would talk to a doc about it.

It all depends. My cousin got pregnant
after only a 3 weeks of coming off it.
Others it takes a long time. I think it
depends on the person. I am coming off
and it is seriously screwing with my
system. I have bled 3 times this month
and each time was no more than 3 or 4
days. Good luck

After getting pregnant twice on the pill
my dr told me to try the shot, since I am
over the weight limit for the patch and
seasonale wasn't approved and I couldn't
afford to pay for an iud.

Hi girls! I had the depo shot back in
2001 and have been trying to concieve
since 2002, no luck yet and it is getting
very depressing. I only had the shot once
and I am glad that I didnt get it again
after hearing the stories that I have
about it. Anyways, how long did it take
everyone to get pregnant after having the
shot?

Hey may!!!! Long time no talk! Been
busy with a sick bubs! Well it took me
about 4 yrs. We weren't trying hard but
we were not using protection. But like
jamie said maybe it's time to check with a
specialist one day when hubby is off the
road and home!

Hi blaze! Actually, hubby and I did both
get checked. I had the hsg done and he
had the lovely sperm test. His swimmers
are fast lol and my tubes were clear.
They are unsure of what is going on. My
family doctor is off on maternity leave
and will be back in the new year. So I am
waiting till then to go back to her and
get some more appointments set up. I was
told many years ago that if I wanted to
have kids to do it within 5 years.. And
that was in 2000, so we have been working
on it.. Hard to tho when hubby is away so
much, however I did have him home from the
time we got married till just last sunday.
No luck tho.. Not for lack of trying
haha. We thought I was this month,
because I havent been feeling well at all
and sleeping all of the time. I did tho
just get back on my med for depression as
I have been off work since june for that.
Anyways, I hope that we have much better
luck in the new year when my doctor is
back to work. Take care girl and I will
talk with you again soon. Hugs for the
wee one and I hope he feels better soon.

Hi jlee, as you will read in lil blazes
post from me, it is not for lack of seeing
the right doctors. I hope to have more
tests done in the new year and go from
there. I am sure it will happen when the
time is right, I just wish that it would
be sooner rather than later. Take care!
