Need to Help My Nephew Posted: 11-01-05 23:54pm
Hi,
my sister has recently had twins, both
beautiful and healthy, one boy and one
girl, finn and lucy.
They are just over four monts old and finn
is suffering terribly with his bowel
movements. He cries and has a really bad
time almost every time he has to go. His
movements are extremely firm and the size
of an adults. It can take maybe 10
minutes for this to happen, which is a
long time for a bub in pain.
The doctor has suggested pear juice, and
we will try it for the first time tonite.
To date they have only really had formula
(water is still yet to be excepted by
these little ones).
I look forward to hearing from anyone who
may have had a similar problem and what
they did to overcome it.
Thanks for listening

Hi Posted: 11-02-05 15:41pm
I had the same problem with my son when he
was little like that my doctor told me to
put a half ounce of karo syrup to 8 ounces
of water and that should help them drink
the water plus help him move his bowls
another thing if he is on formula with
iron ask the doctor if it will be safe to
switch him to something with low iron but
call and ask the doctor first hope that
helps I know it helped me when I was
going threw the same thing .

Well my son had the very same problem
....The doctors will tell you the pear
juice thing...Thats completely normal
...But sometimes just doesn't do the
job....But I can tell you that getting
infant supositories ..(sp) does
work....Make sure they are infant
though....And place one up his lil
hinnie..Lol and the best way to do it is
lay his diaper underneath him and hold his
cheeks together and then it takes up to 15
minutes for it to come out....But ...It
only took a couple of minutes for my son
to go...But always read directions...The
ones I used were once daily....Or directed
by physician....Hope that helped if you
have any question just ask..!And another
thing that might help is either tyenol or
tummie drops....B/c it could have
something to do with his tummie...And that
might help if he has a tummie ache...
