Q: Confused With Sunday Start

This is my first time taking birth control pills. My doctor told me to use to sunday start method for tri-cyclen lo. However yesterday, (the first sunday after my period started) I did not have my pills with me, and couldn't get them. I'm wondering if it would be okay to just start the pack today, monday, or if that would cause problems. Would I just skip the pill marked for sunday, and start with the second pill? Or would I start with the first pill? I'm really confused with how to take them.. But I want to be sure i'm using them correctly. Thank you!

You should be okay starting monday...I wouldn't skip the sunday pill though take all the pills, just a day late..There should also be an info sheet in the packet. I worked at a pharmacy for 4 years....And thats what I always heard..

I just went through a simliar problem. I am on yasmin and they said you could either start n the first day of your period or the sunday after. You should be okay to start on a monday but I would call just to make sure

Ortho-lo Sunday Start
I'm starting on ortho-lo. My doctor advised me to do a sunday start too. If I start on the sunday, 5 days after my period ended.. Would this affect me differently or cause the pill to not work? The info sheet with my ortho-lo says to take it the first sunday after your period starts (which was last sunday). I'd appreciate some help! Thanks alot.

And also, if you started it on monday, in my pills I know theres a monday start sticker u can put on. And then u can do it there...I dont think it matters what day u actually start, but since u started ur period on sunday...And didnt take it...My nurse said that u had to wait for the next sonday to take it...I dont know if thats true...But I got on the pill the week after I got my period b/c I got it on monday.

If ur not sure ask ur nurse.

Same here. I have stickers that vary the days. Ie. One with sunday start, monday start etc. Just check with your clinic just to make sure the type you use are okay to start on other days. I think the sunday start is probably to keep track of the weeks/days etc. Not too certain.

The stickers vary for the 'first day of your period start'... Since it can start any day of the week. If you're on the sunday start sometimes you'll still be on your period when you start..
