A blood test should show if you have stds

on average, it could take up to a year and a half for a healthy couple to conceive.

Stds...................
To find out if you have stds, you would need to go have a pap smear. The dr will do a culture (long q-tip) send it to the lab and get the results.
Blood test is for hiv, hep. Things that are in your blood.

I Have Herpes Maybe I Can Help You
Do you have any possible symptoms of any stds?? Even if you dont have symptoms I know its still very possible to have virus...
Not all stds are routinely checked for at a pap smear..If you ask to be specifically tested for herpes, or hpv (genital warts) they can test you accordingly.
On another note if you have genital herpes, there is no cure however it doesnt affect fertility and the only real danger is upon delivery they will culture you to see if you are having a live virus present (pre-outbreak) and if so you would have to have a c-section. If you have hpv (genital warts) you can still conceive also, but there is no cure for this either,-my friend discovered she had this mid-pregnancy and still vaginally delivered a healthy baby girl.
Fyi aprox 25% of sexually active adults have herpes simplex virus 2 and about 33% have hpv many have no symptoms and do not even realize they have it until they have passed it on or had it for a while.
Personally I have genital herpes, so if you have more questions or test positive and need someone to talk to feel free to send me a private message or reply on this forum.
Get tested asap.

Pregnancy And Fear of Std's
Try not to stress about it to much, it will make it harder to get pregnant. It took me 2 years to get pregnant and it didn't happen untill I stopped thinking about it. If it turns out that you do have an std you will have to be carefull when it is time to give birth and you might have to have a c-section like I did but unless your doctor says you are infirtle try not to worry about it.
