Ok ladies, this one hits home for me and being a man, I would appreciate a professional opinion especially from the female gender which certainly deserves a degree of expertise. Now here's the question(s):

my wife (a registered nurse) filed for a divorce one year ago and we did battle in court until recently. We have two beautiful childred (boy/girl twins). These kids were planned not oops born only after fertility treatments and seven months of her being confined to the bed by her obgyn since she had troubles carrying in the past resulting in miscarriage in the early stages.

Some months into what became the "war of the roses" I decided that it might be a good idea to get a vasectomy. I knew I would be dating after the divorce and I could see my life could get complicated especially for my two children because of an unplanned pregnancy with another person who may also prove incompatible.

To make it short we attempted a reconciliation that is not working no matter how hard I try and comply to her demand$. Upon my return to the marital domicile she asked me to go by her pharmacy and pay for and retrieve her 'scripts. I was surprised to see the prescription was birth control pills. We had not had sex in over a year and not much before then. Further, she knew of my vasectomy since I put the bill on her health insurance provided by her employer.

When questioned she replied it was only for harmonal purposes to regulate her period. Don't they make other pills for that? Finally, if someone were to put a gun to your head and ask you to answer correctly or die and the question was: is she screwing around on me? What would be your answer?

Well, some women do use birth control pills to regulate their cycle, lessen pms symptoms, or clear up their skin. It is possible that she is using them for one of those reasons. Do you have any other reason to believe that she is cheating on you? Or any evidence?

Well, when we were first married she contracted clamidia which I never got. Perhaps it was due to her having side effects from the pill and she demanded that I use condoms when on the rare occaisions we did have sex. She also had yeast infections on such a frequent basis our house smelled like a fish market. This was another reason used for the lack of intimacy which began literally when the honeymoon was over.

I work in the energy industry and am home only on weekends. There were always fresh flowers or arrangements in the house which she said were from elderly patients who appreciated the way she treated them.
However, since I will probably be in court again soon it may not be wise to share my recent epiphany with you at present time.

Afterthought, p.S. Or pms,

i forgot to mention my future ex-wife turns 51 in january. Did I see on this board somewhere it is not medically recomended to take the pill at this stage in a woman's life especially for the reasons she gave if alternate medications are available. Am I just being paranoid?

If she is 51 she has to be at least starting to go through menopause. Women can get pregnant during that time. After everything else you said about her, if I were you I wouldn't trust her!

I understand and realize the average age of women as far as the occurance of the initial phases of menapause. My question is are there alternative medications available for regulating the menstral cycle during these phases and if so are the options safer and less costly than bc pills?

Well, first of all, I really dont think she would have you to pick up bc pills if she had something to hide. Yes, women are prescribed bc pills for other reasons than to prevent pregnancy. I know of many of these cases. With her past history, I really cannot say if she is trustworthy though.

The bc pills were only part of the meds she had me pick up for her that day. However, by having me retrieve the bc pills it would seem less suspicious than if I were to find them hidden as I have so many other items in the past (i.E. Daily log of my activities to be used in divorce proceedings, deleted e-mails sexual in nature with other married man, etc.). I have found her to be extremely calculating and most of her actions when cordial to me, have hidden agendas.

Trust Issue?
Sounds to me like you have already made your decision about her cheating on you. It would be hard for anyone, like myself, to come out and say she is definitely cheating on you. Theres no way we could know for sure. Have you asked her? I mean you all were in divorce proceedings....And like you, I dont believe in even dating until the divorce is final.....But, does she? Everyone has different opinions on that issue. If you cannot trust her I honestly do not know how this trial reconciliation could ever work. You have got to have trust. For your sake and the sake of your familly, I certainly hope she is not having an affair. I wish you all the best of luck.
