I'm not sure why there is a common impression in the society that condoms protect 100% from hiv, when i'm reading that condoms can break or tear 3% of the time and lambskin condoms don;t protect from hiv at all??

Thanks all.

Studies suggest that there are are pin sized holes or other defects in 12-15% of all condoms and that 5% tear while being used. While they are not 100% effective, condoms are your best choice in preventing the spread of hiv and other stds. More people contract stds from improper use of a condom, than from defective condoms.

There is one thing clear to me now. There is no big lie than the fact that "condoms protect from hiv/stds". Condoms do not completely protect, they only reduce the risk. No risk is 100000 times better than reduced risk, so the best way to eliminate hiv/std from the earth is through a decent familty life.

Correct, the only 100% way of preventing the spread of hiv via an infected partner is abstinence.
