Q: Misdiagnosed And Confused

I'm writing this for my dad. He has been sick for 5 months now and the doctors can't figure out what is wrong with him. Five months ago, he got a bacteria in his throat. It made his throat swell up to nearly three times its normal size. He got his tonsils out and they cleaned out the infection, but it still spread to his chest. His heart swelled to two different sizes and the lining almost dried out. He is now better from the infection in his chest but he is still having different problems. He is very dizzy all the time. He hasn't been able to drive for months. That is his primary occupation. He hears ringing in his ears constantly. He has troubles sleeping. When he talks, he forgets what he is talking about in mid sentence. All of these things are not normal for him.

He has been to the doctor numerous times. He's had mri's, cat scans, nuclear testing, etc. They all come out clean. Its clear that he is sick, but nothing is coming up on the tests. His left arm and shoulder are now swollen to twice its normal size. I don't know if all this is related, but it seems like a rare coincidence.

My dad is 52 and a smoker. I don't know if this is related, or not. Please, if anyone out there has similar problems or know of a condition of these symptoms, please let me know. We can't waste any more time.

Misdiagnosed
I'm very sorry to here about your father. You might want to suggest getting tested for verdigo. The infection could have spread or affected his inner ear canal and caused verdigo. I am going through some of the same tests and symptoms. It might help, best of luck. :p :p
