Hi. My name is amy and I just found out that I am pregnant, and I also have bipolar. I am on lamictal, and ambien for sleep, and I was just wondering if anyone actually knew the effects of these on a baby. I did stop taking them, but I was just curious, because I am already 5 wks. Please advise.

google search for lamictal. I use to be on lamictal,
and can remember some of the side effects. But don't know about how it would effect a baby. Have you talked to your doctor. In my opinion that would be my advice is to go talk to your doctor about the meds and say your pregrant. I'd be worryed(sp?)... I heard some meds can cause birth deffects but I don't know if that's true or not.
