Hi, I have had an ear condition for 23 years. So far it has been undiagnosed. However, my last trip to the er did give me a bit of hope. He suggested that it could be rsd. My ear swells, turns red hot, extremely painful and shoots a pain down my neck. It's rather odd. Normally it would, on average, flare up 1 or 2 times a month and last about 12 hours. It was hard but I could deal with it. 10 weeks ago I developed an inner and outer ear infection which set this off like never before. It doesnt go away now. I can get the swelling and heat out of it but the pain remains.I've seen a dozen ent's and at least 50 doctors through the years. I have an appointment at a top university in nov. Although it's only a couple of weeks away, it feels like a year. I would like to know if anyone has ever heard of a case of rsd affecting the ear? I appreciate the input. Thank you.
