Paragard Is Great
Hi my name is Latisha and I currently have the paragard in place. I have been going to a public health center for years and the ladies there are all great so i actually didn't pay anything for my paragard. So for cost i couldn't tell you how much. As far as how it's working so far it's been a breeze. I use to be on bc pills and they caused me many side effects. I choose the paragard because it has no hormones and i thought going all natural would be best. My periods are heavy and cramps are moderate but it only last for a couple of days. All i have to do is check for the string once a week!! I actually have lost a little bit of weight too! My cravings for weird things and appetite have changed drastically as well as my sex drive!! I use to want intercourse once in a while now my boyfriend of 9 years has to keep up with me So good luck and i hope this helped. I love it so far~

Especially eHealthy
I had a horrible experience with the paraguard. I bleed really heavy and had to have it taken out after a few weeks. i then had the mirena in and LOVED it!

Experienced User
I had a great experience with my paragard. I was 18 and nulliparous when I got it inserted. I had it for a year and a half already and it's been great and I have no complains. LIke Latisha I got it for free to in a planned parenthood clinic. I have no side effects except that my periods are slightly longer and that's it. I cannot guarantee that you will like paragard since every woman is different, I will tell you though that IUD's in general have a higher satisfaction rate compared with other popular bc methods like the pill, patch and the ring and it is the least expensive too since you only need to pay once and it will be effective up 10 years.

How long until it stops?
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me an indication as to how long the bleeding from having paragard inserted it going to last? I had it put in on Monday and I am still bleeding quite a bit.
Thanks

When does the bleeding stop after insertion of the paragard
I have the very same question, My Paragard was inserted on July 31 and it's August 12....my bleeding has not stopped...some days it's lighter than others. When my husband and I have intercourse I bleed as if I'm on my period. I also have has quite a few clots the last few days. I'm thinking its because I usually get then during my period which is due in 2 days but with this paragard in, I can't tell if this is the real thing or not. HELP!!!

Paraguard ..good or no good?
I am in the UK and health care is quite different here and I am wondering if anyone who has been on paraguard recently is getting on...I am american and have always been told not IUD unless you have had children but it is different here so I would like to try it since the ring is ruining my sex life but I am alittle nervous about going on the IUd..any thoughts?

I, too, have been bleeding for about a month after paragard insertion. I'm hoping this is is normal, but I wonder when it's time to ask my doctor what's going on. Any advice?

IUD bleeding
I got my paraguard a few days ago and I am also bleeding...wearing a slender regular tampax every 6-8 hours. this sucks! If this does not stop in the next 2 months, I will take it out. I'm in no mood to have messy sex and bleed all day. uuug. my friend had the IUD and bled every day for 6 months, then it stopped. her periods initially were heavier, but after 6 months got lighter. I don't know if I can last for 6 months.
