Hi, one question. For some years now ive noticed that my right hip is way bigger than my left one. 3 years ago the difference wasnt that much because I was skinnier buy now I have about 8 kgs of over weight and the uneveness is clearly visible. I want to know if this is a malformation, and if not, what could it be. It doesnt hurt or anything. But I dont like the way it looks. What do I have to do, or what kind of doctor I should see?

Uneven hip after surgery
I had a hip operation in January 2006. The newly replaced hip has always seemed higher than the other. Now my other hip is demonstrating some of the same symptoms as the first operation, i.e., sharp pain, limited range, and sometime giving leading to more main while performing normal walk motion. The painful condition is exacerbated during over cast days, impending rain, and over working that involves climbing stairs, especially with a moderate load. I do believe that the uneveness has caused the it to deteriorate more rapidly.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

I would say that you are definitely right...My husband had the same thing happen to him with his knees...Then after he had his knees done, his hip started to hurt...Now he had his hip replaced and he is finally alright...From what I understand it is so difficult for the surgeon to align them perfect...Bones wear down on the other side and problems come into play...Our son had a hip replacement last year...This will be happening to him in the future...He has already talked to the Orthopedist about this...I hope that yours goes away without any problems....Take care...
