I think its good for woman to know what they're really getting themselves into. It's a very scary thing to find out your pregnant and can seem like theres no other way out of it if your not ready for a child. Some might not think of the future and the emotional consequences that can occur.

Their are problems w/pregnancy, especially those that are unwanted, miscarriage, stillborns, you cannot blame it all on abortion.
Stress can drive a person insane too.
Any snow yet kourtney?
A lot of the pas has been their long before the abortion took place.
Their are a lot of females that have had abortions that have no problem with it.
I did not have to de-cap that one, just like most of them.

I believe the "fact" (i don't know how biased this site is. When considering bc pills, I went to several sites, and found just as many diffrerent reports as to how effective the bc pills were) that scared me thos emost is that 1 out of 20 ru486 abortions are "incomplete", leading to possible infection and bleeding.

Though my mother either had d&e or d&x, and she was fine... She was 4 months in.

Like I said... There is always a risk no matter what you do.. But there is more of a risk when you have an abortion...

Theres more of a risk when you have abortion, than anything else in the world?

And, are we not allowed to say stuff lmao, I thought we were adults. I didn't cuss someone out.

This board has really gone down hill, that's sad. I see all these locked posts, all these deleted posts, it's quite sad really. This isn't a debate board. It's a "say what I want to hear or i'll delete your post and edit it" board.

Back to lfb I go! :)

more of a risk than what? Certainly not gestation, as that is many times riskier than first trimester legal abortion.

that is your opinion.. Just like abortions are your opinion... ... And this forum has only gone down hill for the people who have made it that way...And that is your opinion as well.. As long as you respect other peoples opinions then there is no problem.. Debates are all about peoples opinions ( but in an adult like manner)

"risk" is a question of likelihood and statistics. So, if you look at the risks of a negative health outcome of legal first trimester abortion, compared with carrying a pregnancy to term and delivering, the risks are very much smaller.

she said it heavily affected her mentally, remember?

That's worse than anything physical.

not in my opinion. She was able to reproduce fine. And some women suffer ppd after childbirth, so they suffer mentally too. Doesn't stop you from demanding they abort future pregnancies to stop their mental angst.

actually get your facts straight before using my personal life.. Just becuase you copied my name doesnt mean you know my life history..
I was not able to reproduce fine I had alot of problems and had to take meds.. I suffered mentally and still do sometimes.. And a persons mental angst you will never know becuase all humans react different to anything

My mother got pregnant fine after her abortion; in fact she got pregnant as easily as she had before the abortion.

And once again.. Every human being is different.. You have some who will never be able to have a child again, you have some who will have problems conceiving, and you have some who will have no problems.. Once again it is all based on that one human being and statistics..

anyone here that says abortion won't possibly affect you physically is just ignorant.

and anyone who ignores the damage that carrying to term and giving birth does to your body is far more ignorant.

I had not one spec of damage done to my body. Not even a stretch mark. So you can stop anytime now with the silliness.

then you are very lucky. My mother is about to go into hospital to repair her prolapsed uterus. But anyone considering getting pregnancy should be aware of the ill effects:

these are the normal, frequent or expectable temporary side effects of pregnancy:

-- exhaustion (weariness common from first weeks)
-- altered appetite and senses of taste and smell
-- nausea and vomiting (50% of women, first trimester)
-- heartburn and indigestion
-- constipation
-- weight gain
-- dizziness and light-headedness
-- bloating, swelling, fluid retention
-- hemmorhoids
-- abdominal cramps
-- yeast infections
-- congested, bloody nose
-- acne and mild skin disorders
-- skin discoloration (chloasma, face and abdomen)
-- mild to severe backache and strain
-- increased headaches
-- difficulty sleeping, and discomfort while sleeping
-- increased urination and incontinence
-- bleeding gums
-- pica
-- breast pain and discharge
-- swelling of joints, leg cramps, joint pain
-- difficulty sitting, standing in later pregnancy
-- inability to take regular medications
-- shortness of breath
-- higher blood pressure
-- hair loss
-- tendency to anemia
-- curtailment of ability to participate in some sports and activities
-- infection including from serious and potentially fatal disease (pregnant women are immune suppressed compared with non-pregnant women, and are more susceptible to fungal and certain other diseases)
-- extreme pain on delivery
-- hormonal mood changes, including normal post-partum depression
-- continued post-partum exhaustion and recovery period (exacerbated if a c-section -- major surgery -- is required, sometimes taking up to a full year to fully recover)

these are the normal, expectable, or frequent permanent side effects of pregnancy:

-- stretch marks (worse in younger women)
-- loose skin
-- permanent weight gain or redistribution
-- abdominal and vaginal muscle weakness
-- pelvic floor disorder (occurring in as many as 35% of middle-aged former child-bearers and 50% of elderly former child-bearers, associated with urinary and rectal incontinence, discomfort and reduced quality of life)
-- changes to breasts
-- varicose veins
-- scarring from episiotomy or c-section
-- other permanent aesthetic changes to the body (all of these are downplayed by women, because the culture values youth and beauty)
-- increased proclivity for hemmorhoids
-- loss of dental and bone calcium (cavities and osteoporosis)

these are the occasional complications and side effects:

-- hyperemesis gravidarum
-- temporary and permanent injury to back
-- severe scarring requiring later surgery (especially after additional pregnancies)
-- dropped (prolapsed) uterus (especially after additional pregnancies, and other pelvic floor weaknesses -- 11% of women, including cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele)
-- pre-eclampsia (edema and hypertension, the most common complication of pregnancy, associated with eclampsia, and affecting 7 - 10% of pregnancies)
-- eclampsia (convulsions, coma during pregnancy or labor, high risk of death)
-- gestational diabetes
-- placenta previa
-- anemia (which can be life-threatening)
-- thrombocytopenic purpura
-- severe cramping
-- embolism (blood clots)
-- medical disability requiring full bed rest (frequently ordered during part of many pregnancies varying from days to months for health of either mother or baby)
-- diastasis recti, also torn abdominal muscles
-- mitral valve stenosis (most common cardiac complication)
-- serious infection and disease (e.G. Increased risk of tuberculosis)
-- hormonal imbalance
-- ectopic pregnancy (risk of death)
-- broken bones (ribcage, "tail bone")
-- hemorrhage and
-- numerous other complications of delivery
-- refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease
-- aggravation of pre-pregnancy diseases and conditions (e.G. Epilepsy is present in .5% of pregnant women, and the pregnancy alters drug metabolism and treatment prospects all the while it increases the number and frequency of seizures)
-- severe post-partum depression and psychosis
-- research now indicates a possible link between ovarian cancer and female fertility treatments, including "egg harvesting" from infertile women and donors
-- research also now indicates correlations between lower breast cancer survival rates and proximity in time to onset of cancer of last pregnancy
-- research also indicates a correlation between having six or more pregnancies and a risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease

these are some less common (but serious) complications:

-- peripartum cardiomyopathy
-- cardiopulmonary arrest
-- magnesium toxicity
-- severe hypoxemia/acidosis
-- massive embolism
-- increased intracranial pressure, brainstem infarction
-- molar pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease (like a pregnancy-induced cancer)
-- malignant arrhythmia
-- circulatory collapse
-- placental abruption
-- obstetric fistula

and a few more permanent side effects:

-- future infertility
-- permanent disability
-- death.
