I am still trying for a baby , its been 5 months now .. My b/f thinks that on the 8th month of us being together I am going to get preg.. But I dont think so .. Me or him might have something wrong with us to not b able to have a baby , my gyno said everything looks fine for me but he's never been to a "man" doctor when should we decide to see a doctor?

In some of the posts you'll also notice that some women have said that when they've stopped trying is when it happend. If your doc says theres nothing wrong with you then trust that. Ttc is stressful for some people because they want it to happen so bad and that kind of stress isn't good for your body. I think you should stop trying for awhile and just be with your bf because you want to be not because you want something out of it, you may be surprised at what happens.

Ttc for up to a year is perfectly normal. Just make sure you are having plenty of sex and covering all your bases. There is a great chart for charting your basal body temperature and cervical mucas on Just mommies good luck to you!

It's not uncommon for it to take 6 to 8 months to become pregnant. And it's hard to "relax" when it's not happening for you. The usual routine is that if you are under the age of 30 and have not become pregnant after a year..That you would go for a full fertility workup, which includes a series of tests.

Are you tracking your cycles? Do you know the signs of when you are most fertile?

There's a great book out there for learning about your fertility signs, how to chart and timing for conception.

Here's a link for it:

i've actually given it to a lot of girlfriends :)

If you suspect something is wrong you need to go see your docter as soon as possible.. Me and my boyfriend have been trying for around 3-4 months i'm still not pregnant so i'm making a docters appointment now cause I think I could be infertile..

You know they have ovulation tests now? (should be kept away from the younger girls who are dying to have a baby to drag around)

it's to tell when you ovulate so you can get pregnant & don't have to worry about trying so hard.

You should look into it, i'm sure it would help a lot?

actually the ovulation tests do not tell you when u are ovalating. All they do is tell u when u have ur lh hormone surge, which means u will ovalate 36-48 hours after u get ur surge. But u can still have ur surge and not ovalate. So they are good to know around when to start having sex but not for ur actual ovalation.

if u don't believe me go ask ur doctor. Look it up on the net. I can find articles to prove it too u. Plus I learned it in nursing school. Plus it even says it in the instructions to the test strips.

Yeah yeah but if you didnt ovulate when the "surge" or whatever was detected then you wouldnt ovulated at any other time that cycle either, right??
Umm since you know about this do you happen to know about the statistics of ovulation- like does the average woman ovulate every month ? Or do some of us skip a month now and then ? Ya know????

Here's an except from one site saying about the ovulation predictor tests. Ur not the only ones that thought it predicted the actual ovalation, thats y I did my research on it.

If an ovulation predictor test kit says positive, that means that I am for sure ovulating, right?
Ovulation predictor kits determine whether the luteinizing hormone (lh) is detected. The luteinizing hormone (lh) rises right before ovulation occurs. Therefore the kits are supposed to detect whether your going to ovulate but can not ensure that you do ovulate.

Women may have a high level of the lh if they have certain conditions such as polycystic ovaries, premature ovarian failure (pof), or for women over age 40 who are experiencing perimenopause. Any of these conditions could result in a false positive result on an ovulation predictor test.

That is all true , but it is a good tool to use because it pinpoints when you most likely will ovulate..... Everything man made has its conditions regarding accuracy. Nothing in life is 100% but everything is worth trying.....Good luck girls!
