Q: Loss of Full Taste And Appetite After Tonsil Removal

I am a 36 year old male that had my tonsils removed on sept 15 and I have noticed that my throat is still sort of dry and I don't have full tasting capabilities yet and without being able to taste the food I eat I find myself forcing me to eat. I seem to have loss my appetite along with the overall pleasant taste of food. Did anyone else who had their tonsils removed experience this too? What can I do about this? I also heard that the tonsils help fight off infections in the body, does that me that I will get colds more often? Help :(

This Has Happened to Me Too
I have lost about 70% of my taste. I hate eating but I still get hungry and I am dropping weight cause I dont want to eat. My body is actually having a hard time swallowing because it thinks I dont have food in my mouth because I cant taste it. I hate it. The dr thinks the mouth gag I had when they did my surgery may have severed the nerves in my tounge. Ask your doctor to take a look. He said I may never get my sense of taste back Sad
