There Is Something I Have to Ask!! Posted: 10-22-05 13:08pm
There is something I have to ask!!
When I feel very intense pain, I feel very
ill and sometimes makes me sick!! Is this
the case when your in labour?? How do you
cope with it cause when I feel sick I am
pretty much useless!!
Also I have heared that some women "follow
through" when pushing!!(if you know what I
mean). Is this true!!!
Thanks

I had my eldest 24 years ago and they
would give an enema--so no.

It's actually more common than you think-
women giving birth that defecate. My gf
told me that when I go into labor to make
sure that I go before I get to the
hospital! She said it's because when you
bear down and push, you push like that.
(like you're going number 2!)
she said it happened to her and she was
sooo embarrassed but the nurse was really
sweet about it. My husband's co-worker's
wife did the same as well. It's no big
deal really- don't be embarrassed or
worried if you do. :)

When I was pushing I pooped. I didn't
even know until like a week after I got
home from the hospital and my husband and
I were talking about the labor. I was so
pumped to see my baby I just didn't even
notice. The doctor/nurses didn't say
anything because it's normal and they see
it all the time.
Actually a nurse in my childbirth class
told me she likes to see that because it
means you're pushing the correct way.
As far as being sick from pain, if there's
food in your stomach you will most likely
throw up because it won't sit well during
contractions. I threw up.

Kiare,
thanks for the info about having food in
your stomach. I've heard a lot of women
experience nausea during labor so I will
make sure not to eat like a pig once my
water breaks!! Ice chips is what i'll
be eating. I'm sorry you got sick- to be
in pain and throw up has to suck!

When your inlabor and your ready to push
that baby out you wont care about that all
you will want to do is push and release
that tension
