large bruise and swelling

I gave a bit of blood for testing at my drs. Office a week ago. Usual bruising for me would be a small one, at the site where the blood was drawn. Right now I have a very large bruise and some swelling that covers a large portion of my forearm. Any ideas what this may be? Or what was the cause? Thanks for any info!
