No Period Since I Was 13.. Help!! Posted: 10-21-05 19:59pm
I am now 23 yrs old... I had to have my l
ovary removed because of a non cancerous
tumor... But my periods stopped right
after the surgery... They told me that if
I didn't restart them when I was 16 then
to go to a ob/gyn... I went but no one
could give me an answer... Well so far I
still have no answers... Each Dr. Tells
me that they don't know what is going
on... My hormones are crazy... But here
is my main concern... Can you get
pregnant without having a menstrual
period? Are there eggs in the ovary that
can be let out and fertilized even though
you don't have a "period"? Or am I
totally out of ever having a child????
 if anyone can help me understand
or even tell me something that may be
helpful I would really appriciate it!! I
need some sort of answers but can not find
them... So even if you have some of the
same problem please give me advise or tell
me what I can check into to find out what
is wrong with me.... Having a baby is
very important to me but I am afraid now
that I won't ever be able to.... So
please help me!!! Thank you!!

not get pregnant.

I've heard of plenty of women who still
ovulate without a period.

well your period is just the shedding of
your uterine lining. You may still be
ovulating. But since your hormones are all
wacko, your uterus might not know that
it's time to shed. So you may still be
able to get pregnant...implantation might
be a little odd though..but whos to say
old uterine lining isnt as good as new...
good luck dear

Just another idea. When I was in my early
20's I had amenorrhea for no apparent
reason. My periods just quit. I went to
doctor after doctor. I had hormone therapy
but it didn't work. A friend of mine told
me to try acupuncture. I was so desperate
for answers that I went. After 2
treatments I started my period. I have
been regular ever since. Perhaps it is
worth thinking about.
