Hi,

i was diagnosed with cervicitis by my gynaec, on the basis of a pap smear. My symptoms included yellowish discharge and vaginal pain(mostly after urination).

The doc prescribed 1g of azithromycin and 2g of metronidazole as medication. She prescribed 2g of metronidazole to my spouse to.

My question is - how does the doc know I have trichomonas, for which metronidazole is prescribed. The pap smear results never mentioned what sort of infection it is.

Its been about 3 days since I finished my medication. I still have slight pain(about 30% of what it was earlier) and discharge(its much lesser but still there).

Does anyone have experience with cervicitis? When do you feel alright(i mean 100%) once medication is complete?

Am so sick of this problem...Its been around for 4 months. Would appreciate any reply/help!

cervic issues
I am having the same issues too. I have been living with this smell and discharge for four months and nothing seems to work. I am reading medical literature and surfing the web on this issue but it doesn't specify on how to overcome it after you had it for so long. I am at my witts end of feeling "not so fresh", it's annoying and embrassing. HELLLLLLLLP!!
