My husband and I were married on dec 4 04. We decided to stop my depo shot in april of 04 so that it wouldn't take us as long to get pregnant.

Here it is oct. 05 and still nothing. I am new to this site and might of posted this twice.... Sorry, but if there is anyone out there to help please respond.

Sometimes, women can get pregnant right when they quit birth control. Others take a lot longer. I've heard that it can take about a year before the body can rid the birth control completely from your body and straighten itself out.

It took me 2 years before I conceived my second child (after quitting birth control pills) - so, just relax, don't think about it too much and it will come naturally.

Good luck! :-)

Re: Conceiving
hi,
yes jennifer is correct it is quite common for birth control to cause delays in conception. Depoprovera can delay the resumption of fertility, especially in women over 35 and so it can take upto 18 months to conceive after using this form of contraception.

Hope this helps,
boudica
