My wife has been on the pill for almost 2 years now and never misses a day. I am still using condoms. My question is, do we still need condoms or are we safe and without a condom do I need to pull out. I have heard the pill is 99% but they dont tell you if it is 99% with internal ejaculation.
Thanks

Well for when I went, the nurse told me when you are on the pill you do not release any eggs, therefore you will not get preg. I think the rate in getting preg with the pill is like 1 out of a million. If you're not sure tell her to ask her doctor about it.

When I was on the pill, my boyfriend "came" in me without condoms all the time.. And im not and never was pregnant. The chances are reallyy low.

Have any of you ever used the pill and some type of spermicide together? Are there risks useing them together?

No, why would they be? Spermicides simply act to kill sperm before they enter the uterus.

I was on the pill and used the vcf film. It works great. Its not messy like most spermicides. The only risk is your chances of getting pregnant are less.

I just have to comment on kelly's response...
No, the pill is not "1 in a million" effective. Try 1-5 in one hundred.
Just to be clear.

Ive been on bc for the past 1.5 hrs, and have well I guess u could say "very frequent sex" me and my bf dont use condoms and he does internally ejaculate. As long as she is taking her pills at the same time everyday she should definatly be ok. However if you are stressed about it you could always use secondary protection, be it condoms or spermicide or whatever else you want. Not much will affect the effects of the pill other than possibly being on another perscription drug.

I would like to thank you ladies for the replys and the information. Sorry for posting in the womens form but I felt you would know best. My wife and I have been talking about stopping the use of comdons for a number of reasons. They are a little irritating to her and really dull the sences for me. I have been reading about the pill and have seen many posts from women who have gotten pregnant while on the pill and its a little scarry if you know what I meen. Then you see posts from people saying " if your not ready for children you shouldnt be haveing sex". In someways they are rite but if that were the case then there really is no reason for type of birth control and people would only be sexual a few times in life when they wanted children. For those of us who are not ready for children and choose to be sexual responsibility is everyones concern. I remind my wife every night to take her pill and every night she has taken it before I remind her. We both agree we want to be protected but condoms arent working well for either of us so we are looking into spermicides to add to the pill.
Thanks
