Q: Hepatitus Through a Needle?

I take inter-muscular growth shots. I moved a new apt 2 months ago. In my first week I was vacuming. I found that somehow a needle in the vacum hose. It was sticking through the hose. Now this needle could have been one of mine from when I was vacuming my old apt and I may have dropped a needle on the floor (as stupid as this sounds) and vacumed it up. Therefore, this needle could be mine. However, thoughts started racing through my mind, what if it's not mine. I live alone so it could not of come from anyone else at my old apt.

My question is this: this needle was the same size as my needles. It's an inter-muscular needle (quite long). This needle looked as though it had been quite old, very dusty etc. What are the chances of contracting hepatitus of other stds through an old needle head?

I've heard that with hiv if hiv infected blood is exposed to air for more than 7 seconds, hiv is dead in the blood.

Anyway, what are my chances?
