Comparisons?
My mom says, "if you post, tell her to watch 'a baby story' or something like that and tell her the key is to getting the epidural." and i've talked to a friend of mine (whose wife had their son in feb.) and he's like, "what you gotta do is order the epidural as soon as you get there, there's no point in waiting because then maybe they can't get it in." (btw, his wife almost couldn't have one because she waiting until the pains were real bad and by then she couldn't stay still).

You cant compare labour to being tortured or your arm ripped off im sorry. Its not pain along those lines. Labour is a different kind of pain. Of course it hurts (theres really no way to describe how the pain could feel). Labour isnt as bad just cuz u get something really amazing at the end of it. It all depends on the type od person you are too. Some could be in horrible pain and need pain meds as soon as possible but some can also go thru labour so easily with very little pain (usually if they can tolerate pain well) and deliver just fine. It depends on your body and how you react to pain

Its more than that.. But severe cramping is like the only way to describe it. U feel it along ur stomach.. And those unlucky ones (like me) will also get back labour where the contractions will not only be in yourstomach but in your back too.. Which is much worse!

Re: Labor
Hey

labor isnt all that bad, I went natural when I had my daughter at 20 and I plan on having #2 natural unless I need a c-section. I have a friends who is semi parylzed from epidural and my mom and my friends mom suffer from herniated disks.

Epidural is not a medication it is where they place the needle (epidural space) and the stuff you get in it is similar to morpheine

the contractions hurt but if you can focus your mind and walk around its not as bad it is worse than period cramp......But in bewteen contrations its pain free like going for a break.>>>>the worst part is when they're not even a minute apart in that case I suggest getting a shot of demerol I think im going to do it this time around this stage lasted only 30 minutes for me but once u get to pushing stage its like the contrations somewhat fade and feels so good.

If you have any questions send me an email

honestly wait as long as possible for pain meds I found the crowning quite easy and I had three stitches after ask not to be cut can cause more issues after>>>>unless they really need too

remeber when you see the baby all the pain goes away a feeling of pride, love and power overwhelm u but its different for each person

I had a csection, so my answers are going to b a lil diff. Than other girls..

Does it hurt more than having ur arm cut off? No!!!!!!! Lol

out of ten how much would u rate the pain? Surgery- a 0! Lol, didnt feel pain, recovery (1-3 days after) id rate a 4-5--nothing you cant handle!, and after 3 days, maybe a 2? I have a high tolerance for pain also, so I dunnoh.

Is it like getting tourtured? Hell no! Id do it again right now this second

Well, i've never had my arm cut off, so how would I really know?

I personally would rather give birth then have my arm cut off.

It's painful, as hell. It hurts like a health forum. But, in the end, it's all over, and you have your baby. Yay!
