I'm Worried About My Friend

I'm really worried about one of my close friends. Over the past few months he's lost weight, and i'm sure he's way under what he should be for his height. He's 6'2 and probably weighs 120 or 130 maybe, although I don't know the exact number. He's really pale and just in general doesn't look good. He is always very cold, and if you feel his hands they're unbelievably cold.
He seems to be eating, but not a whole lot really. I'm not always around to see exactly what he is eating all the time. When we go out to eat, he usually eats very well and ends up eating more than the rest of us. He's also a perfectionist and is rather hard on himself. He's very obssesive compulsive too.
He's always struggled with depression, but never to the point of treatement really, although a few times i've thought he really should get some.
I don't know what to do. Does it sound like he might have an eating disorder? What should I do? Sad

Pale, cold, weight loss, yet eating(?) sounds like my nightmare of the last 7 months with my daughter (15) & no she wasn't as everyone said suffering anorexia nervosa.

Anorexia is a weight loss from any medical condition (nervosa is when you won't eat & especially not in front of other people, generally you over exercise, see yourself as fat & force yourself to vomit & take laxatives to lose weight.

After 7 months & alot of struggle & searching we found a dr who could think of a patient as a person. I suggest you talk to your friend & see how he feels & whether he thinks he has or might have a problem, then suggest a couple of really simple things to start with.

Get him to keep some sort of diary of what & when he eats & when & how much he exercises so he & others can see if anything seems odd.
My daughters dr says that 2, 30 minute walks in the fresh(?) air each day & a balanced diet which includes foods containing phytophan which helps balance the serotonin in our brains which in turn helps balance us both mentally & physically (if serotonin is not balanced we can be stressed/depressed, gain/lose weight) phytophan is in many foods such as bananas/some cheese/avocado/turkey etc etc & you can not od on it.

Thanks, I think i'll try talking to him. I just have to figure out the best way to approach him. Sometimes when somethings bothering him, he denys that anything is even though you know he's upset, but other times he'll talk freely about it. I'll give it a try.
