Q: Whats Going to Happen to My Body...

Im 18 years old and pregnant i'll be 30weeks on sunday october 16. Ive heard alot of rumors about whats going to happen to my body after pregnancy and ive seen some girls my age after having kids who's bodies arent that flattering.

I want to be healthy after having my baby because I do plan on breast feeding, but I want my body back and I dont want to have to go through surgery to get it.

Ive heard that exercising after pregnancy can cause the milk to be sour due to lactic acid building up inside your breasts, or something like that, when you exersise. Ive heard that breastfeeding causes saggy breasts, I think it has something to do with heredity, just like stretchmarks and skin elasticity, but im not sure. Im also worried about the "pooch" or flabby skin that many women get after having babies. I read up some and what I read said that after pregnancy sometimes the muscle becomes detatche from the skin and theres exersises to help that.

Blah! Im just so worried. I was 145 lbs before I got pregnant and im 180 now.. So thats about 35 lbs... Around the recomended weight gain. I dont want saggy boobs an a flab  and im willing to exersise my ass off to get back to my regular size, maby even better, I just want to know if its possible.

What i've heard is that if you eat healthy during your pregnancy and you are putting on good weight (necessary weight) not just fat then you are able to lose it quick after your pregnancy. Of course many of the things that you are worried about can be hereditary. I am terrified of how my body is going to end up looking like too!!

So my advice is to try to eat healthy and drink lots of water. I heard water helps your skin a lot and helps you out with the whole stretch mark situation.

My mother had me an my brother and she went back to her normal weight both times with no stretchmarks (she's lucky)

my cousin tried to do everything that she could possibly do to avoid too much weight gain and stretch marks. Although she did not gain lots of weight she got lots of stretchmarks and as much as she tried working out her skin on her stomach just hasn't gotten back to how it was (it's been four yeard now) so is considering surgery

it's scary I know.... I am with ya!

Pfft! Lies!
Exercising does not sour your milk. It's good for you. There's even exercises you can do with your baby. Like "bench pressing" him or her. Also, healthy eating (or lack thereof) is usually the big flaw in most new-moms' before-baby body plans. It would be a good idea to keep the junkfood away and stock your fridge and cupboards with healthy snacks that you can grab anytime. Also, have someone lined up that will grocery shop for these snacks after you've had your baby. Because if you go on your own, it will be harder to say, "no!" to those twinkies.

Heehee!
The lady I sit for keeps telling me about how she went up a cup size (apparently she didn't have boobs before she had her son, I wouldn't know because I met her when he was 6 weeks old).

You're boobs won't be the same as they were before you were pregnant, and I honestly doubt they ever will be the same.

You're going to get stretch marks in places you've never thought of before.

But, stretch marks can also be hidden with cocoa butter, it gives them more of a skin look instead of being a purplish color. You're boobs? They'll get worse when you age.

You choose to do something about your body after birth, the girls you see, obviously havent.

It all depends on how you take care of your body afterwards. Im back down to my pre-pregnancy but I had to exercise and for once, try and get my body back. Some poeple have trouble losing the weight, some dont. And u may also get stretchmarks, which will never go away. But theres are always things about your body that will never look the same again.

A stretchmark is a scar, cocoa butter isn't going to make a scar go away, or prevent a scar from appearing.

i don't have on stretchmark, anywhere. Not one.

I went my whoooole pregnancy with only like one tiny little stretch mark on my right side.....Two weeks after I had my son...More appeared!! Lol, I was soo mad! But they're not bad at all and only on my side.

My boobs are saggier (is that a word?)

umm, I swear my butt isn't as firm.

I lost all my pregnancy weight like within days after having him....It just depends!

Ah, once again i'm not talking to you, but to the people in general.

Oh, and i've read the bottle of cocoa butter, I have pure cocoa butter from hawaii, I never used it.

I have nothing to say to you, I just find it cute you seem to respond to everything I say.

O_o seems its gotten a bit off topic now o_o

thanx for all the advice and the comments ladies, I really appreciate it and it makes things a little more clearer to me now.

I know that every woman is different and every body reacts diffrently to pregnancy, I just wanted to find what most women had in common about their body.

I agree with you about the cocoa butter thing. On most cocoa bottles I read it does say "may help to reduce strechmarks before and after pregnancy". I use it, and I have gotten strechmarks, but I continue to use it and , even tho im getting bigger, they have faded a bit. Either its that or because im getting bigger they seem smaller :-p. On my boobs, I had strechmarks before I got pregnant (being a teen I guess they were still growing :-/) those have faded and I cant really tell where they were before unless I run my hand acrost my boob and stretch out the skin.

True, stretch marks are scars but cocoa butter contains vitamins that help the skin to be more elastic, just like drinking water hydrates the skin. Strechmarks just take longer than most scars to fade and people are so impatient now adays they feel that they "never go away". I used to feel that way when I had blemishes on my face cuz of pimples, but they went away :-d.

Thanx for clearing the fable that exersise makes milk sour. That makes me feel alot better about exersizing now.

Again, thanks for the help ^_^

They recomend that if you do heavy excercise you do it after your baby has fed....... Breast feeding will help shift any extra pounds that you have gained along with healthy eating and moderate excercise........ I lost 23 kg....... 50.6 pounds in 14 weeks just by doing that......... As for stretch marks and that bit of flabby skin they are all dependant on your body unfortunatly....... Some girls get them while others dont.........

I have pure cocoa butter also I just started using it about 3 days ago. It smells like chocolate to me (cocoa bean).
I hope it helps, I have noticed that my stomach is really really soft now after using it 3 days.

yeah, I love the smell! It's so yummy. I used to take baths everynight and put vitamin e oil in the tub too, and that might have helped with my "no stretchmarks" thing. That stuff smells good too.
